The New England Patriots are one of those teams you either love or hate. We all know those types of teams. There are the New York Yankees, the Golden State Warriors, FC Barcelona, and countless others, but the Patriots are the team I truly despise. They compete in the American Conference of the National Football League (NFL), and have won the East Division ten consecutive times. Joining the league in 1970, the Patriots have 36 playoff wins, five Super Bowls wins while having attended ten. Everyone knows they win way too much, but for some people that's the reason to root for them. For me, it's just another negative to the team. I want to root for a relative underdog, so I'm sick of them winning all the time. Franchise quarterback Tom Brady, who has four of the five super bowl wins for the Patriots, leads the team to much of their success. To me, he represents the constant, sickening success of the New England Patriots. Another reason that I can't stand the Patriots is their fanbase. Only a few fans have been with the team before they were stacked with all-stars, or have a genuine reason to pull for the Patriots. I respect these fans, but some people love the Patriots because they're a steady team that always wins. These fans are the ones that add on to my hatred of the team. On February 3rd, 2019, the Patriots face off against the L.A. Rams, hunting for their sixth Super Bowl win in their eleventh attendance. I am praying that they lose, not because I love the Rams, but because I can't bear another Patriots win.

Many people, including me, believe Cristiano Ronaldo is the best soccer player on the planet. The Portuguese superstar was traded from the Spanish club Real Madrid to the Italian club Juventus for 120 Million euros this summer. He has scored only 5 goals in the first 9 games he has played in and has 4 assists. At Real Madrid last year, he had 26 goals and 5 assists over a span of 27 games played. At a first glance, it looks like Ronaldo will have a worse goalscoring year at Juventus while having lots more assists than when he was at Real Madrid last year. Now we can dissect the two teams' performances. Last year, Real Madrid won 22 league games, had a tie in 10, and lost 6 while Juventus had 30 wins, 5 draws and merely 3 losses. The Spanish side placed third, behind rivals FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, but the Italian team rested in first. Now, Real Madrid sits at seventh place with 4 wins, 2 draws, and 3 lost games. Juventus, however, is comfortably at first place with 8 wins and 1 tie. Now that the raw data is out there, there's no way anyone could say Real Madrid's downturn isn't caused by Ronaldo's departure. It's too early to say whether he has impacted the Italian league much because of Juventus' constant dominance over the Serie A. In conclusion, Cristiano Ronaldo has damaged Real Madrid's success by leaving the club, but I can't be sure whether Juventus is benefitting much from the ginormous trade deal.
